The topics of loss, remoteness, migration, have always been the main interest for Desiree Land.
Born in Finale Ligure on 1984, she spent her childhood in Corio Canavese, a little village on mountain that will deeply influence her artistic style and making.
Her works are made of hearth, which is her Heimat, her childhood's land.
Childhood's Heimat is a tissue of imaginary spaces, Heimat are train noises mixed with summer dust end smell of smashed insects. Only the childhood owns forever what seems useless, cobblestones, wood splinter and ancient dreams.
Strangely, these apparently useless things don't leave us, but somehow they help us to recognize the world, and in the world we run into them,
into the Heimat.

The discover of Hölderlin's poetry is basic for her artistic research, the recurrent presence of mountain as privileged horizon and world score, the few steps that divided her from a little wood near home to feel far away as close to home.
Our time testifies the shipwreck of the divine. The Hölderlin's poetry defines the Indian summer of times which were somehow tied
up to divine.

Zu löschen die Liebe zu dir,
An deinen Pfaden, o Erd
Hier wo ....
